Following government guidance, the Grove is closed except for those pupils in certain categories. You will have been contacted about whether you require a place for face-to-face learning.
All pupils have five hours of curriculum work and pastoral time per day. This is mainly made up of online group teaching through Microsoft Teams, but also a range of other learning (for example SAM Learning, assignments, workpacks, revision guides). We strongly encourage our young people to take advantage of all the opportunities, particularly as we do not yet know how they will be assessesd for their GCSE and other qualifications. This page on our site explains our curriculum offer. Please contact us if you are unsure.
Welcome to the Grove Centre. We opened in Balsall Heath in September 2018. We offer a safe and engaging secondary school environment for our young people to thrive and achieve. We believe that children have the right to the best education in a nurturing and motivational environment. We cater solely for Key Stage 4 pupils and our curriculum is aimed at those who have the ability and motivation to succeed at GCSE. Our staff team has a wealth of knowledge and skills and all our pupils take English, Maths and Combined Science GCSEs. There is also a range of option subjects including RE, Sports Science, Art, Media Studies and Health and Social Care. Each of these provide a qualification at GCSE or equivalent. Pupils have a careers interview and support for the next stages of their education. We have high expectations for all and believe in offering our pupils the best chance to achieve success, now and post 16.
